Artonus Matero Va Case 16"-17,5" CZ2

I bought this case especially to fit my unusually large viola, for which it has been difficult to find a case.

Dimensions of my viola:
Body length 45cm
Full length 70cm
Upper width 21cm
Lower width 27cm
Full depth 11cm

Width and depth-wise, it is a perfect fit. There is room to spare on the length, but the case comes with some extra padding pieces that can be velcro-ed in to fill the extra space, for a snug fit.

The case is very well made, with high quality materials in an attractive colour. It is super light, and well-balanced to carry, with additional backpack & shoulder strap options. The lid stays open by itself and the case does not tip over when open, as some do. It has a large interior storage compartment, and a useful sheet music compartment on the underside.

Only minor downside, none of the inside storage compartments are big enough to take the shoulder rest when it is extended to fit the width of the viola’s hips (very wide!). I need to re-extend it and collapse it again every time.
