I have used Ernie Ball strings for many years on electric guitars, but never on acoustic. So I decided to try out a set of 2004 Earthwood Bronze 80/20 on my 1986 Yamaha FG.
The strings feel great, and seem to have a pretty good lifespan. The sound is rich and warm, but it sounded a bit dull compared to the phosphore bronze strings I was used to. So I bought another set of the Ernie Ball Earthwood, in the same gauge, but the Phosphor Bronze version. These had a brighter, crisper sound which I like better.
In conclusion, I find the Ernie Ball Bronzewood, both 80/20 and PB versions to be solid, good quality strings. At this price, they are a very good value. Give them a try!
