Flight Concert DUC440 Acacia

I needed a ukulele to awaken the interest of my kids on playing string instrument. I aimed to get an instrument that was well made and had a great sound so it could be used beyond just awakening musical interests. Basically a very playable instrument that you can be tune properly and that would last, not a toy.

The finish of instrument is perfect. It comes with a pretty gig bag that is also very well made. You will find a nice leaflet with common chords and strumming patterns. I found that very useful.

I had ordered another ukulele from another brand (~ same price) to compare sounds, but the finish and cosmetics determined my final choice. I liked the curved back and the incrustations on the neck. The tuning keys seem to be of good quality too, however it doesn't stay in tune very long. That may just be due to the new strings. Important to note the other ukulele I compared it too didn't hold the tuning well either, so I don't know if that's a valid criteria.

Overall I am rather satisfied on my choice. Sound wise it will depend from one person to another. I went for the concert size so I did have a sound that was too thin, but in another hand ukuleles are meant to sound so. I recommend that you order and compare instruments in the same budget range.
