Mollenhauer Denner in Palisander - Beyond expectations!

After being quite frustrated with my student model wooden recorder, which continually argued with me over high A and higher, I decided that perhaps moving to a better instrument may improve my playing enjoyment. I spent a vast amount of time combing through reviews of various soprano recorders of differing makes and woods and after careful consideration I settled on the Mollenhauer Denner Soprano in Palisander, which promised the ease of response in the higher register and the quality of tone that I sought. Slightly doubtful of the former, I immediately unboxed it and was able to play the most delightful C major scale through the two octaves, effortlessly and with the most beautiful clear tone, very round and sweet. I then played a piece of music which I have struggled with on my old recorder - the Denner responded to every demand, and I have to say that my playing improved from the moment I picked it up. It is also a very visually striking instrument, with superb wood grain. I could not be happier!
Regards delivery, the recorder was ordered on the 19th of the month from Germany and was delivered on the 26th of the same month here in Australia, safely and in perfect condition. On every account my expectations have been exceeded!

Schönes Instrument!

Allzu viel kann ich zu der Flöte gar nicht sagen. Sie ist super verarbeitet, da gibt's nix zu beanstanden. Durch die Holzmaserung des Palisander erhält man ein wirklich schmuckes Instrument. Das erste Anspielen brachte auch mit wenig Blasedruck klare, schöne Töne hervor. Allerdings hatte ich mir zum Vergleich noch eine Küng Marsyas bestellt und an die hatte ich sofort mein Herz verloren. Die Marsyas klang sofort leichter, klarer, strahlender - das war einfach Liebe auf den ersten Blick - oder vielmehr Ton. Vielleicht hätte sich die Denner im Laufe der Zeit auch noch entwickelt, aber ich hab sie schon nach wenigen Tagen des Probierens wieder zum Rückversand eingepackt.
Dank an thomann für die Möglichkeit, die Instrumente zu testen. Und das ist meine eigentliche Empfehlung in dieser Bewertung: die Meinungen anderer Nutzer sind sicher hilfreich, aber jeder hat ein anderes Empfinden, wie sich ein Instrument anfühlt, anhört. Und dies muss man einfach austesten, um seine Lieblingsflöte zu finden.

Schöne hell- und reintönige Flöte

Für meine Absicht sehr gut geeignet. Wir machen Irish Folk. In den unteren Lagen hat die Flöte einen durchaus warmen Klang, in den oberen Tönen hell und durchsetzungsstark.
Und für mich wichtig: Nach einer Woche konnte ich konnte ich problemlos, ohne zu laut zu blasen, dass hohe H spielen, dass in unseren Stücken oft vorkommt. Klingt sehr sauber.
