We have have 3 Shure MX Gooseneck Microphone which have given excellent service for about 6 years. 2 have had the standard foam wind shields and one has had a 412M WS wind shield.

Recently the standard foam wind shields disintegrated and the decision was to replace them with new 412M WS wind shields as the one we had was still in pristine condition..

What struck us most was that while we were waiting for delivery of the new 412M WS wind shields the amount of POP and feedback we were getting with the unshielded microphones.

Once the new windshields were fitted things immediately returned to normal in fact better than normal. We would certainly recommend the 412M WS as an upgrade for any Shure microphone that is compatible as they will give improved sound quality and last for many years.
