As an advanced amateur, I wanted to have a spare violin bow and thought a carbon fibre bow might be a good choice next to my pernambuco bow. After having tried this bow, I was sold by it’s’ ease of playing, good tone (with core) and stability (no unexpected bouncing or tremors) and am now using it as my first bow. The bow is easy to handle, allows for playing long notes from piano to fortissimo, but also works very well with ‘jump’ techniques (e.g. spiccato, sautillle, staccato in the up-bow). I have recently had my first performance using this bow and even though I was nervous, which sometimes results in a tremble in my soft long tones, this bow remained stable and did the work for me. Also I was very happy with the way Thomann handled my order: I had ordered four carbon fiber bows (total around 4500 euros) to try out. Once I had made my choice, I phoned Thomann for the return: Thomann organized the retour label and an insurance and within a week from me sending the return package from NL to Germany with the 3 bows, Thomann refunded the money.
