Excellente mentonnière! Elle est très fine et agréable au toucher.
On ne la sent pas quand on joue!

Very good quality, great low rest option

I bought this for my viola, for which I need a low chinrest. (The feet on this one are for violin, but I exchanged them for viola feet myself.)

This is practically the same in form to the Götz slim style chinrest, which I've seen recommended as a good option for extra low chinrests. I have the Götz as well, however, it's of rather poor quality - the holes for the feet are slanted, and the chinrest is warped on one end which means that it doesn't even lay flat on the soundboard.

This one by Gewa is made much better, and is completely uniform. Since Götz seem to have some quality issues, I would recommend getting this one by Gewa instead.

The only difference between the two (for those who are concerned about the weight of their fittings, like violists might be) is that the Gewa chinrest is 4g heavier than the Götz in natural ebony. (Gewa is 27.5g, and Götz is 23.3g - both measured without the feet.)

...für die Person,die mit dem richtigem Sitz am Kinn klarkommt.Für mich ist dann noch der ästehtische Anspruch ein Grund.Ich habe alle meine Violinen mit dieser in (Hill- Optik) ,oder Hill - Kinnstützen augestattet.
Seitlich angebracht, nicht klobig,sehr leicht ,wird vom Instrument nicht so viel verdeckt.Ist aber Geschmackssache.Das wichtigste ist,passen muß es.
