Most guitarists, if asked, “ Which guitar make do you prefer?”, will usually reply either “Fender” or “Gibson”, and yet Gretsch have been around almost as long and have their own element of uniqueness!
The standard of fit and finish on this G5210-P90 is excellent, almost flawless and looks as good as many makes twice or even three times as expensive, although the addition of either a real bone or tusq nut would be preferable to the synthetic ( plastic bone) installed.
Where this and many Gretsch electric guitars exceed many other makes, is due to the provision of not only a volume control for each pickup but also a separate master volume, allowing a particular tone to be established and controlled for use as a quieter rhythm part or boosted by the Master volume when a lead solo is required.
If you have never played a Gretsch guitar, please try one, and if you want the benefit of both single coil and humbucking sounds, this model’s P90’s provide an excellent combination of both! G.B.
