Höfner HZ27

Esthétiquement, cette guitare est très réussie: une finition très soignée et des bois qui s’accordent parfaitement. La teinte est un peu plus claire que sur la photo, ce qui me convient.
Elle est légère et facile à jouer, adaptée pour du picking.
Après quelques jours, les cordes (Höfner HPS d’origine) tiennent maintenant bien l’accord.
Le son est remarquable, chaud, avec des aigus clairs et des basses bien présentes.

La livraison et le traitement des commandes par Thomann étaient parfaits: pas de housse, mais l’emballage Thomann était impeccable.

En conclusion je ne regrette en rien mon achat.

Unfortunately, I had to return the guitar I received, because it had some problems:
- The bridge was tearing off when the guitar came, and tore off eventually before I managed to send the guitar back.
- There were some cuts on the fretboard close the 2 and 3 frets, as though someone took a knife and cut it intentionally exactly in that place.
- Sharp fret edges, inconsistent fretwork - some fret ends were hidden in the fretboard, some of them protruded
- A small (0.5 cm in diameter) chunk of wood was missing near one of the poles on which you fix the string on the head of the guitar.

Other that that, the guitar looks beautiful. I did not have time to appreciate the sound due to the bridge problem, 5 stars are there just because I had to give it some rating. But this is not the quality I expect from a guitar that is made in Germany.

I was planning to buy my next classical guitar and heard about Hofner before especially about its quality products. So one of the options for me was a mid level Hofner which is in line with my budget. Model HZ27 is the one I decided after listening to recordings on the net. Luckily there was a discount at Thomann for HZ27 and placed an order. The transport of the guitar was excellent and the quality and appearance of it was amazing as well as its sound was for my taste. Yet, it was having issues with fret buzz so arranged a replacement with Thomann. Thanks to Thomann, the replacement with another HZ27 was flawless and next one arrived in a few days. I admit that the second one was not looking that good to me because of the natural stains on the cedar top but quality, finish and sound was perfectly the same. Plus there were no fret buzz or any other defects. Now after being with my HZ27 for the last two months, I feel that its sound has just settled better and became warmer. I just cannot stop playing it everyday.

Optik:
Meiner Meinung nach sieht die Gitarre super aus, die massive Zederndecke ist heller als übliche Zederndecken, was der Gesamtoptik zugute kommt. Die Rosette passt sehr gut dazu. Die Boden und Zargen sind laminierter Palisander, welcher eine sehr schöne und grobe Maserung hat. Der Steg ist auch sehr ansprechend.

Klang:
Out of the Box fällt auf, dass die Höfner HZ27 sehr schöne Bässe hat. Dies liegt aber auch mitunter an den Höfner Saiten. Wer also meint, dass diese zu dominant im Verhältnis zu den Höhen sind, greift zu anderen Saiten. Der Bass bleibt dennoch recht präsent, beim Picking gewöhnt man sich schnell daran und gleicht den Klang nach seinem Belieben mit der Anschlagsstärke aus. So erhält man einen sehr schönen Klang. Für Strumming eignet sie sich nicht so sehr, was aber bei Klassikgitarren eh nicht viel zum Einsatz kommt. Der Klang ist insgesamt recht "klar", während meine alte Carmencita 503 Gitarre eher verwaschener und wärmer kling, was diese im Strumming besser macht, im Picking aber wieder nicht mithalten kann.

Verarbeitung:
Viel habe ich von der tollen Verarbeitung von Höfner gehört. Leider ist der Sattel an einer Seite etwas unschön aufgesplittert, allerdings so klein und unauffällig, dass ich dies nicht für einen Retourgrund sehe. Die Bundstäbchen sind gut eingearbeitet und nichts steht ab. Dennoch Abzug für den Sattel und ebenfalls einen unregelmäßigen Übergang vom Lack beim Griffbrett/Hals.

Mechaniken:
Hier kenne ich mich nicht gut genug aus, um darüber zu urteilen, Basssaiten knartschen etwas manchmal beim stimmen. Könne auch am Sattel liegen.

Bespielbarkeit:
Saitenlage ist für Klassikgitarren gut, kann nach Bedarf natürlich erniedrigt werden. Der Hals ist sehr dünn was das Greifen sehr angenehm macht.

Fazit:
Ein schönes Instrument, was man vorsorglich für Picking nutzen sollte und eine gute Bespielbarkeit garantiert.
