Sabian HHX Complex Promo Set

I needed a few rehearsals to "learn" how to hit these cymbals and for my ear to like them. They're not bad in any way, just too different from my other set (AAX). I like the HH the most, very articulate dynamic and somewhat quiet (in a good way!). The ride is not super suitable for crashing (which I like a lot), the bell is a little smaller and quieter comparing to my AAX, but overall it sound very nice. The crashes are faster and quieter than the AAX and have something like chorus effect built in - very interesting, not in any bad way. I play rock/metal and although I think this set is more suitable for jazz (I guess, I don't play jazz) I think it's very good for all kind of music actually. Definitely happy that I bought the set! :)

An excellent set of cymbals, which I ordered primarily for its versatility, and it is indeed versatile. Wonderful sounds, especially the raw hand-hammered bells. A good balance between dryness and splashiness, and if I had to take one set for a gig involving many genres, it would undoubtedly be this one.

Keep in mind that the crashes are 16" and 18", so if you are used to fast and quieter responses, consider having a smaller one at hand. (E.g. I substitute the 18" with a 14" AAX Studio crash in such situations.) Also the HHX Complex 10" Splash works well with this set, of course. Not cheap, but worth the money.
