The standard, the classic that cannot be missing in every bassist's collection. The equipment of the Performer is basic, but the finishes are exceptional, looking at painting and assembly it seems to have a top-of-the-range instrument in your hand. The neck is very comfortable and smooth and the factory setup did not require even a tweak to the truss rod (thickness 0.12" exactly at the eighth fret). A few flaws: it's not a featherweight, it suffers from neck dive and the case is ridiculous for a €1500 bass. The instrument is passive, so you tend to play louder to get out of the mix, but it's also extremely sensitive to your playing - just hack the touch or move along the PUs to change its character. I have had several other Fender Jazz Bass, Mexican, American, vintage and I can say that this is a real Jazz Bass, made in the USA, with a square heel and very little to envy to the higher models.
