I purchased this as a replacment for my 2007 Highway one telecaster nut, as the high the strings were starting to buzz alot even with trust rod & action adjustments. It certainly solved the problem and was a perfect fit with fairly easy insatlation.
A few things to take into account -
- There is an extruding piece of plastic on the underside of the nut that may or may not fit your nut slot on your strat or tele, if you do not have this particular slot shape, fear not, just have a very sharp box cutter or knife ready to slice the piece off but make a clean & precise cut.
- The second thing to note is that this nut may very well change the tone of your guitar as it did mine, it was as surprise but I like the change none the less, I had a synthetic bone nut on before which had a warmer sound & this nut added a bit more of a sizzle & punch to the attack (at the start I was worried about this) but infact it brought more dynamics to the guitar's tone & raised the bar in the dynamic range & if I want to achive the old "warmer" sound I can roll the tone Knob back just a hair & it brings down the "spank" enough, but something to consider non the less with regards to your choice of playing style & tone & there are alot of variables with all guitars being very diferent.
