Great pedal with some constraints.

I love the sound of this pedal. It is a monosynth sound and only really does the one sound with a small set of variations . If you just want a keyboard sound under your guitar sound then you have to be very careful with your playing, your input volume, and your gain.
If you want it as a noise maker then it is a lot of fun. Play two notes together and listen to it struggle. Play a fifth and it will struggle a little. Play thirds and something more dissonant and enjoy the sound of it trying to work out what to do. If you've ever played a Zvex Fuzz Factory and played with the Comp/Gate/Stab settings then you will recognise something similar.
My only issue with this is volume. Sometimes I find that the full synth mix disappears and I need additional volume, which then means more tap dancing to engage it.
I use it as a special effect. When just drive/gain with modulation/delay becomes boring and you need something to take you out of your comfort zone and inspire something new, this is it.
At the sale price of EUR47, it's a no brainer.

Great analog synth

The sounds of this pedal are unique and nice to have on a pedalboard, pairing it with other pigtronix pedals gives it a nice psychedelic/alien vibe.

Habe mir den Space Rip fürs Recording zugelegt, um damit Riffs und Powerchords zu unterlegen und im Mix mit ein paar Prozent schrägem Unklang anzureichern, evtl. auch ein paar Soli. Für diesen Zweck eignet sich das Teil vorzüglich - für sonst aber auch nicht viel. Auf der Bühne wüsste ich nichts damit anzufangen. Denn die abgefahren Sounds eignen sich eigentlich nicht als tragendes Element für einen ganzen Song und nutzen sich schnell ab. Irgendwann wird's einfach nervig und penetrant (okay, das mag auch ein bisschen Geschmacksache sein).
Wer den Space Rip für Stoner Rock und alternative Krachexperimente einsetzen will, muss sich im Klaren sein: Die Klampfe muss akkurat und sauber gespielt werden, sonst schmiert der Effekt kläglich ab und hinterlässt nur ein dissonantes Winseln. Auch wenn irgendwo eine Saite ungewollt mitschwingt, kann es mit der Herrlichkeit schnell vorbei sein.

Einzigartige monophone Analogsounds, schräg und krachig
Sehr gute Verarbeitung - das Ding ist klein aber ziemlich schwer
Einfache Bedienung, keine versteckten Funktionen
Negatives:
Begrenzt einsetzbar
Nicht geeignet bei "schlampiger" Spielweise
Preis/Leistungsverhältnis

leider nicht verwendbar, da das signal in der lautstärke deutlich angehoben wird sobald das pedal aktiviert ist - auch wenn der mix regler auf 0% (trockenes signal) ist. schade eigentlich, klanglich durchaus cooles pedal
