Interface made easy. Automation amazing.

I got the Quantum ES4 to replace my old studio 1810c. First I was impressed by it's compact design which still afforded me more input options. The controls are relatively simple and the use of light displays to indicate levels and modes is very clever.
The absolute game changer on this interface is the automatic level setting. Users have the option to manually set channel levels but automation makes things incredibly easy.
I use a matched pair of mics but through wear and year they are not so matched any more. Used to take me a lot of juggling and tweaking to get their settings to match. Automate does this in 20 seconds.

Leider enttäuscht das Interface auf der ganzen Linie.
Angeschlossen direkt über USB-C passiert gar nichts. Andere Geräte funktioneren. Also extra Netzteil mit USB C und mit USB A in den Rechner. Funktioniert dann.
Nach einem Neustart wird das Interface erst nach Aus-und einstecken der Kabel wieder erkannt.
Treiber: der funktioniert einfach auf Win 10 nicht. Egal mit welcher Buffer Einstellung habe ich immer crackling und noise. Erträglich wird das Ganze erst bei 98000khz samplerate, 64 bit Puffer.Dann fängt das cracklen erst bei ca. 60% CPU Auslastung an. Aber weg geht es nie. Meine Maschine: Ryzen 7500f + GSkill 32GB Ram 6400 + NVME SSD's. An der Potenz liegt es nicht. Latencymon attestiett astreine Performance.
Mein UR44 schafft eine Roundtrip Latzenz von 7 ms. mit diesem Rechner. Mit dem Presonus erreiche ich das gleiche, aber mit crackling. Das Interface kam 8 Jahre später auf den Markt. Finger weg von diesem Schrott! Seltsam das dies von Thomann überhaupt angeboten wird. War da nicht mal was, mit: wir bieten nur an was wir selber kennen und empfehlen können?! Hm. Keine guten Bewertungen, im Netz findet man erstaunlicherweise gar keine Erfahrungswerte zu dem Gerät. Das deutet schon alles in eine Richtung. Der Ansatz wäre super, Design chic, aber das hilft nicht.

A really nice interface with one flaw.

Is bought this the moment it was available. I use studio one, so I like the integration.
Everything works as advertised and it’s a good sounding interface (although the headphone output didn’t sound amazing with my headphones below 80 ohms).

The reason I had to return it however, is that it seems to have pretty mediocre shielding from electrical interference. If you have an outlet, or power source (in my case even just the USB A cable connected to my bass station II) you’ll hear a buzzing sound in your recordings.

Totally worth the price.

Gives a fair amounth of inputs and 2 great jack inputs for instruments ( thank you fender for co-working). The 2 headphones are also perfect for having a collaboration with someone without needing a splitter. The design feels professional and the Auto-Gain feature works as it should. I upgraded from a 2 inputs to this one while using a small desk and didn't want an audio interface that was going to take over the desk. This one is exactly what I wanted for a portable, flexible and well built audio interface.

Sidenote : The 1 and 2 inputs have a combined gain at default but you can unbind them in the Universal Controll application.
