Missing A Few Colours

I like Foxgear effects pedals - I already own the Echosex, which is a very sophisticated tape-style delay and very affordable.
With the Rainbow Reverb, we have something which is an electronics product of quality, attractively presented and equally enjoyable to use. There are enough knobs to achieve control of the variations of reverb on tap. However, the range of effects on offer could be described as misdescribed.
There are five effects to choose from, even though there are seven colours in the rainbow spectrum.
• The Spring setting does not sound very authentic, but makes for a good spacious Room effect
• The Church could be a Hall growing into some bigger space.
• The Rotary does not rotate very convincingly, and might be better understood as a generic reverb with modulation.
• The Celestial and Shimmer are twins, and seem only to differ by virtue of subtle harmonic variations in the pitch of the organ / string additions.
To my way of thinking Spring is a popular effect and worth a better algorithm; Room-Hall-Church-Cathedral are all variations of the same thing; Shimmer can come at you in many guises, but in the end you sense the effect more than listen to it purposefully.
Anyway, I still like the pedal for the quality of reverb produced, but the selections may need reviewing for the next upgrade.

Amazing wide range of good sounds!

Great reverb for the money.
My only concern about it is regarding the overall build quality feeling, because although the pedal looks well build it's made of plastic on top and it's very light weight also.
Apart from that it's an amazing pedal, in which all reverb algorithms are very mature and consistent, the shimmer is fabulous and it's one of the best reverb pedals that I've ever experienced in ambient/regular reverb type balance. You can do whatever you want with this little guy. Very well done Foxgear.

Gutes Reverbpedal

Gut verarbeitetes stabiles Reverbpedal mit nettem Backlight. Braucht man nicht wirklich, sieht aber gut aus! Die Drehregler lassen sich gut bedienen mit angenehmen Widerstand und klarem einrasten des Wahlschalters. Für den Preis sind die Sounds hervorragend. Sehr fein dosierbar und für alles was dabei. Mann kann sicherlich stundenlang dran rumspielen um die optimale Einstellung zu suchen, ich hab
dat Teil angeschlossen und war innerhalb kurzer Zeit glücklich. Hall halt! Lang, kurz, dezent, präsent, knackig, verträumt…. usw.
Einzig der Abstand zwischen An/Aus-Schalter und Reglern könnte etwas größer sein. Ich latsche bei Hektik (Schuhgröße 47) auch gerne mal auf die unteren Regler.

Nichts zu meckern außer das Backlight

Kurz um: Bester Reverb den ich je hatte. Authentischer Spring Reverb, klasse Shimmer Effekt und auch alle anderen Reverb Typen haben eine hohe Soundqualität. Aber live die Drechregler zu bedienen geht nur wenn man das Geräte quasi aus der Routine heraus bedienen kann - also blind. Durch das nett gemeinte Backlight - welches das Gehäuse von innen raus beleuchtet, sind die eng anliegenden Drehregler in ihrer Position kaum zu erkennen. Man sieht nur schwarze Löcher. Das wäre dann aber schon der einzige Nachteil. Ich behalte es, denn Sound geht über Bedienung.
