tc electronic Dark Matter Distortion

Disappointed, was looking for a good pedal for metal, so I tried this one (was very happy with other TC Pedals so I thought I would give this one a try) but it doesn’t do the job IMO.
Name and « look » might make you think it’s good for metal but this pedal is actually better for just rock or hard rock. The gain and settings won’t allow for good metal tone and chug even with an overdrive pedal in front of it. (Tested on a 20W Orange head with a PPC12 cab)
It actually sounds a bit dark but hasn’t got much gain and attack. If you are looking for a food metal pedal don’t lose your time, save money and get a better / angrier pedal. I have tested MXR full bore metal: is better than the Dark TC pedal, tested a ProCo RAT: better as well, tested REVV pedals: awesome, tested Empress Menace: absolutely awesome!
So yeah… Bye bye TC pedal, sorry. I’ll stick to Revv and Empress pedals for metal. They are the best by far.
Other than that the TC design, quality and knobs were nice, felt good and looked robust.

fabrication : rien a dire c'est du sérieux..c'est du TC electronic. Souffle correcte.
Réglage : Le site constructeur est bien fait allez jeter un coup d'œil.
Alimentation : Alim 9VDC non livrée.
Sonorité : C'est spécial, c'est dark comme son nom, donc aucune brillance dans le son.
Branché entre un dsl 401 (oui ça existe encore) ou H&K 18 et un Ibz RG2550 GK je n'ai pas réussi a obtenir un son heavy metal année 80 comme je l'aurai espéré.

Panne : Juste avant ses 1 ans le potard gain et devenu inutilisable..gros craquement a chaque rotation...renvoyé chez thomann en S.A.V retour sous 15jrs avec un nouveau Dark Matter tout neuf....je ne l'ai pas encore deballé..plus envie..
